Life handed Puno the word ‘Hope’ right before the Covid-19 pandemic. She clung to it for dear life. She studied it, observed it in motion, wrote about it, and asked people what it meant to them. What was once an elusive word, a lukewarm sentiment thrown around in phrases like “I hope so” and “I hope this finds you well” has now become the secret ingredient to finding meaning in every moment and the strength to face each day. According to Hope is an exploration of life through the lenses of possibility. These poems follow on from Love Handles, the first book in her series ‘tiny tales from my twenties.’ Other topics in the series include Love, God, Black and Woman.
